Black Bean Brownies
This is one of those ULTIMATE fake outs. Not only do you NOT taste beans you will be getting extra protein.
I do advise that you make these when no one is around or you probably wont get them to even try them.
Ok so lets get started shall we.
First the ingredients:
1 (15 ounce) can black beans (or cook 1/2 c dried black beans)
3 eggs
3 tablespoons oil
1/2 cup cocoa
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1 pinch salt
1 teaspoon vanilla
3/4 cup sugar
1/2 cup milk chocolate chips(I used semi sweet baking chocolate chopped up because that is what I had on hand)
OOOOOOOOPS!!! I chopped more than a 1/2 cup oh well who is gonna complain about extra chocolate?? Not me!!!
ok now for the directions:
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Lightly grease 8x8 square baking dish. (I used homemade PAN GREASE to grease the pan(that is what is in the container with the brush)
Combine the black beans, eggs, oil, cocoa powder, baking powder, salt, vanilla, and sugar in a blender.
Blend until smooth.
Pour the mixture into the prepared baking dish.
Sprinkle the chocolate chips over the mixture or mix into the batter.
Bake in a preheated oven until the top is dry and edges start to pull away from the sides of the pan, about 30 minutes.
Now all that is left is to let them cool............OH THE TORTURE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Once they are cool, cut and serve and relish the fact that you pulled a fast one on your family.
She never knew that they were made from black beans.
Please excuse the mess behind her, was in the middle of picking up when I saw that she was sneaking brownies LOL
